In 2027 this means: f Making it easier for more people and communities in Maine to buy low-cost medical equipment and supplies from us. f Building stronger partnerships – both in the U.S. and around the world – so every shipment we send contains exactly what it needs to make the biggest difference possible. f Reducing the environmental impact of surplus medical equip- ment and supplies generated by the U.S. healthcare system. FUNDRAISING EVENTS/OPPORTUNITIES PWH offers a wide variety of events to support our organization's work, 90% of which is conducted by volunteers. We seek cor- porate sponsors for annual fundraising events, pop-up salons, volunteer appreciation events, and the International Artisan Fair held in December. PWH offers opportunities for corporate spon- sorship at various giving levels, each with associated benefits. For additional information, call our Corporate, Foundation, and Media Relations Manager at (207) 774-5555 extension 109. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES The organization routinely seeks funding through direct appeals and emergency response appeals and welcomes support from individuals for our annual fund, biomedical equipment fund, and emergency response fund. We also offer monthly donor programs, major and planned giving support, intern support, and container shipment sponsorships to communities in need of humanitarian aid. In addition, PWH hosts in-service days for companies large and small, offering volunteer opportunities for teams from vari- ous businesses, schools, and community partner organizations. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES PWH can achieve so much with a small, dedicated staff because we have so many volunteers helping with every aspect of our operation. We need people to drive trucks to collect, load, and deliver supplies. We rely on warehouse volunteers to sort, evalu- ate, and pack supplies, then prepare them for shipment. We wel- come office volunteers, sewists for various projects, and medical and social work staff for Medical Service Trips. PWH is always eager to find talented, connected people to help with commit- tees, events, task forces, and Board work. Folks can volunteer for a few hours or longer periods; we also have opportunities for those who want to work on particular projects. Large groups are welcome for in-service days – we love our volunteer community!
