Our key domestic abuse-prevention program is school vis- its — 15 so far this year, from Sanford to Baileyville– featur- ing a young person with Finding Our Voices sharing their story of dating abuse, and a hands-on poster project based on the Power and Control Wheel. More than 40 Maine dentists are restoring smiles and lives of women and children through the ground-breaking Finding Our Smiles program of donated dental care. Our Get Out Stay Out Fund has disbursed almost $600,000 in four years, mostly for shelter, car repairs and gas cards, and legal fees and through collaboration with a statewide net- work of referral partners. Our innovative fundraising campaigns spread awareness about the domestic abuse that is all around us, at the same time letting survivors know their community cares about them. We are committed to complementing the work of existing resources, including the regional domestic abuse resource centers, in empowering women survivors to shake off mis- placed shame, find their voices and reclaim their lives, and give their children the best chance to thrive. WHY YELLOW? We are domestic abuse survivors who have managed to cross over to the bright side of safety and freedom, shining a light for our Maine sisters who are still in the dark. 2026 AWARDS Our CEO and Founder, Patrisha McLean, was named one of this year's Outstanding Women in Business by Mainebiz. Our donated dental care program won a national Purple Ribbon Award for Most Innovative Service and a Maine Governor's Award for Service and Volunteerism.
