Our enduring goals remain clear: help active-duty Teammates secure meaningful employment within 60 days of arriving in Maine, and position them for long-term success in their new careers with retention in their first post-military job of at least 12 months. Over the next year, Boots2Roots will continue expanding its national outreach, strengthening partnerships with Maine employ- ers, and increasing the number of servicemembers and fami- lies who have the resources, relationships, and opportunities they need to start living and working in Maine. FUNDRAISING EVENTS/OPPORTUNITIES Boots2Roots engages a wide community of partners throughout the year. Join us for our regularly occurring networking events, which serve as an informal opportunity to meet Boots2Roots Teammates, connect with our staff and volunteers, and learn how you or your organization can help bring more military tal- ent to Maine. Boots2Roots is also actively engaged with cham- bers of commerce, employers, workforce organizations, and community partners across the state. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES For 10 years, Boots2Roots has provided its services at no cost to our Teammates and the Maine employers who hire them. That has been possible because businesses, foundations, gov- ernment partners, and individual donors have invested in our mission and recognized the value military-connected talent brings to Maine. As we enter our second decade, that support is more impor- tant than ever. Several substantial state and federal grants that helped Boots2Roots expand its capacity are scheduled to conclude at the end of 2026. At the same time, demand for our ser- vices continues to grow. Sustaining the current level, quality, and capacity of our transition services will require us to signif- icantly expand and diversify support from businesses, founda- tions, and individual donors. This is an opportunity to invest not only in Veterans and mili- tary families, but in Maine's workforce and communities. Every successful transition brings skilled talent to a Maine employer, a new family to a Maine community, and the potential for last- ing economic and civic impact. Opportunities include serving as a Peer Mentor to a transition- ing servicemember or military family; providing resume, inter- view, and career expertise; connecting Teammates with Maine employers and professional networks; and supporting organi- zational initiatives through advisory and other volunteer roles.
