The project is on India Street, between Fore and Middle streets, next door to the 125-room Hampton Inn. It is expected to open by May 2028. Dennis Craven, chief operating officer at West Palm Beach, Fla.-based Chatham Lodging Trust (NYSE: CLDT), told Mainebiz the property is projected to be 88,000 square feet and will include 5,500 square feet of commercial and retail space, to be marketed as condominiums by the Boulos Co. Procon Construction, based in Hooksett, N.H., is the contractor on the project. Procon also built the 148-room Residence Inn / Moxy Hotel by Marriott on Portland's Thompson's Point, which opened this summer. The company also built the West Street Hotel in Bar Harbor and a Home2 Suites in Kittery. Procon also builds medical, multifamily, educational, industrial and commercial use buildings — even ice rinks, including the Watson Ice Arena at Bowdoin College in Brunswick. CONSTRUCTION NEWS FROM AROUND THE STATE f Avesta Housing, headquartered in Portland, is developing two housing projects in the city, the Dashaway and the Prime, which will add a total of 76 units to the Bayside neighborhood. CWS Architecture & Interior Design, based in Scarborough, is the creative team on the project. Both projects have received approvals from the city and work on the projects is expected to start within the next year. f Northeastern University's Roux Insti- tute campus, under development in Portland's East Deering neighbor- hood, is progressing, with a planned completion date in late 2027. Con- sigli Construction's Portland office is managing the $320 million proj- ect. The Alfond Center is designed by CambridgeSeven architects, of Massachusetts. The design team for the renovation of the former B&M Baked Beans facility is Boston-based Bruner/Cott Architects. f A nature-focused "landscape hotel," touted as the first of its kind in Maine, recently opened in the Hancock County town of Orland. Lantern Camp is a collection of 24 intentionally low- impact cabins set atop a 166-acre blueberry meadow. Rockland-based Addison Godine was the chief archi- tect and designer and the cabins were manufactured by B&B Tiny Houses, in Adams, Mass. Hawes Trucking and Construction, based in Bucksport, provided site work for the project and Haley Ward, headquartered in Bangor, handled civil engineering.
