Bob Klybas and Ray Hill have joined engi- neering and construc- tion services firm Weston & Sampson at its Rocky Hill office. Klybas was named senior superintendent. He has more than 40 years of experi- ence designing and constructing water and wastewater pump stations and equipment for municipal and industrial clients. Hill was named project manager. He has nearly 40 years of experience in heavy construction, including construc- tion processes, materials, safety and environmental requirements. Tara Navara has been named president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Connecticut, a nonprofit that grants wishes to children with critical illnesses. Her appoint- ment is effective Nov. 2. Navara, the nonprofit's longtime chief development officer, has worked for the organization for more than two decades. She helped lead a $6 million capital campaign for its Trumbull headquarters and generate more than $30 million in donations. She will succeed Pamela Keough, who will retire Nov. 1 after 13 years as CEO. Kerry A. Kelley has been named deputy trea- surer of the Connecticut Office of the Treasurer. Kelley was previously executive vice president of operations and chief financial officer at Connecticut State Community College. She also held fiscal policy roles at the state Office of Policy and Management and the General Assembly's Office of Fiscal Analysis. She succeeds Sarah K. Sanders, who left to become Old Saybrook's finance director. Daniel LLanas has been named general manager of Lake Compounce Amuse- ment and Water Park, a Bristol attraction with more than 50 rides and other features. LLanas will oversee the park's operations, financial performance, guest experi- ence and employee development. He previously was director of admissions for Aquaventure World at Atlantis The Palm in Dubai. He also spent more than a decade with SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment. LLanas succeeds Doug Hemphill, who retired in July after serving as general manager since 2023. Viking Construction has announced several promotions, including Patrick Moughty from project manager to project executive. Moughty joined the commercial construction company in 2019 after working in high-end residential construc- tion. He began his career as a carpenter and later served as an office engineer, project engineer and superintendent. Mike DeFonce was promoted from project engineer to assistant project manager. Jamaal Gee was promoted from site project engineer to site superintendent. Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau, the state's meet- ings and sports event sales and marketing organization, has named Christopher Grosse director of sports sales and chief marketing officer and elected three new board members. Grosse previously was senior associate athletic director for external strategy at UConn. He also held athletics marketing positions at Penn State, Georgetown University, the U.S. Naval Academy, New Mexico State University and Florida State University. He earned a bachelor's degree from UConn and a master's degree from Florida State. The new board members are Shannon Frost, Hartford's director of marketing operations, special events and special projects; Jeff Pugliese, Eversource Ener- gy's director of community relations; and Brian Shactman, a broadcaster with Audacy and WFSB-TV. Invivyd Inc., a New Haven biotech- nology company developing antibody treatments to prevent infectious diseases, has named board Chairman Marc Elia CEO. Elia, who joined the board in 2022, is founder and chief investment officer of healthcare investment fund M28 Capital Management. He succeeds Chief Financial Officer William Duke Jr., who had been handling the company's top executive duties and remains CFO. Invivyd also named Ajay Royan, founder of Mithril Capital and an early company investor, lead independent director. Ian Sheffield, founder of private investment firm North Country Holdings, joined the board as an independent director. Chris Leonard has been named general manager of Haven Beer Company, a Hamden brewery, restau- rant, taproom and biergarten that opened in 2024. Leonard will oversee day-to-day operations, including the company's private-events business. He has more than 20 years of hospitality experience.
