16 HARTFORDBUSINESS.COM | SEPTEMBER 7, 2026 F or seven consecutive years, Forbes has named Sikorsky Credit Union the #1 credit union in Connecticut. While we're honored by that recognition, what mat- ters most to us is what it represents: the trust of our members and the value we deliver every day. Our commitment to delivering value has guided Sikorsky Credit Union since 1948, when a small group of Sikorsky Aircraft employees came to- gether to create a financial institution built around the needs of working people. Nearly eight decades later, we've grown from serving a single employee group into one of Connecticut's largest financial institutions, serving more than 67,000 members throughout Fairfield, New Haven, and Hartford counties. While membership is now open to any- one who lives, works, worships, or volunteers in our communities, our mission remains the same: helping consumer and business members make the most of their money and achieve their finan- cial goals. Every financial institution generates earnings. e difference is what happens next. Because Sikorsky Credit Union is member-owned, our profits are not distributed to outside sharehold- ers. Instead, they're reinvested into competitive deposit rates, lower loan rates, reduced fees, bet- ter technology, expanded convenience, and per- sonalized service. at's not a marketing slogan. It's our business model. Over time, reinvesting in our members has had a positive impact within the community. A better mortgage rate helps a family purchase a home. Lower borrowing costs help a business invest in equipment, hire employees, or pursue growth op- portunities. Higher returns on savings help families build financial security. e value we create stays with our members and circulates through the local economy, strengthening the communities we serve. Over the past several years, we've expanded our fo- cus to include serving businesses because we saw an opportunity to broaden that impact. After de- cades of helping consumers achieve financial suc- cess, we recognized that local businesses are often the engines behind thriving communities. When businesses succeed, jobs are created, families pros- per, and local economies grow stronger. We believed we could bring the same member-first philosophy, competitive pricing, and relationship-driven ap- proach that helped consumers thrive to the busi- nesses that power Connecticut's economy. at's why we are often found at the front of the pack. e Forbes recognition is not the result of a single product, promotion, or campaign. It's the result of decades spent aligning our success with the success of the people and businesses we serve. When our members thrive, we thrive. We're also committed to investing in Connecti- cut's future. Our recently announced partnership with Sacred Heart University reflects that com- mitment. Beyond the naming of Sikorsky Credit Union Field, the partnership includes opportu- nities to support financial literacy and provide resources that help students develop lifelong fi- nancial confidence. It's an investment in the next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs, and profes- sionals who will shape our state's future. As we look ahead, our mission remains the same as it was in 1948: create value for our members, strengthen our communities, and help people and businesses achieve more. at focus has served us well for nearly eighty years, and it's what will continue to drive Sikorsky Credit Union forward for years to come.
