Here's a list of recently sold luxury homes in Connecticut. Thomas Ricci has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer of Connecticut Chil- dren's, the Hartford-based pediatric health system. He will begin the role Aug. 31. Ricci joins from Women & Infants Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, where he served as senior vice president of finance and interim chief operating officer. He has more than 20 years of healthcare finance experience. He succeeds Bridgett Feagin, who left the organization in March. Ricci holds bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting from Rhode Island College. Orange-based energy company Avangrid has promoted Ryan Shields to senior vice president of finance and corpo- rate development and Teresa Bradford to senior vice president and controller, following the departure of Chief Financial Officer Justin Lagasse. Shields, who joined the company in 2019, most recently served as senior vice pres- ident of corporate development. Bradford most recently was vice president and strategic initiatives controller and has held finance and accounting leadership roles with Avangrid and its predecessor companies. Lagasse, who served as senior vice president, chief financial officer and controller since 2024, has left the company to pursue another professional opportunity. Nathan Cholewa has been promoted to director of social media at Mohegan, the owner and operator of casino resorts and online gaming platforms in the U.S. and Canada. Cholewa most recently served as social media manager and will oversee the compa- ny's enterprise-wide social media strategy across its portfolio of prop- erties and digital gaming operations. He previously held marketing and real estate leadership roles with Mohegan Holding Co., including interim director of marketing. Cholewa has been with the Mohegan organization for 10 years. The Urban League of Greater Hartford — a nonprofit that provides education, workforce development, housing and health programs — has added seven new directors to its board. The new directors are Barry Camara, area director of operations at Starbucks Coffee Co.; Zillah Matare Fluker, founder of activate| elevate LLC; Princeton Jennings, talent acquisition partner at Coca- Cola Beverages Northeast; Dr. Dayeshell P. Muhammad, chief oper- ating officer of My People Commu- nity and Clinical Services; Bishop Maurice S. Porter, founder and pastor of IMPACT CHURCH in Hartford; Alex A. Toribio, head of global litigation and government investigations at Stanley Black & Decker; and Cathy Velez, executive vice president and director of retail banking for Beacon Bank's Springfield, Massachusetts, and Hartford region. The nonprofit also elected its 2026-27 officers. Wes Alexander was reelected chair, Angelo Adams was reelected vice chair, Velez was elected treasurer, Teshia Levy-Grant was elected secretary, and David J. Hopkins continues as president. The Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Hartford has appointed Ron Cipriano and Eric Zachs to its board of trustees. Cipriano is executive vice president and chief operating officer at East Hartford-based construction supply company NEFCO. He previously served on the boards of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, Chabad House of Greater Hartford and Kingswood Oxford School. Zachs is co-chairman and co-founder of Torrecom Partners LP, a wireless infrastructure company, and also serves as co-chairman of MCM Holdings LLC and managing partner of Communications Tower Group LLC. He serves on the board of Root Center for Advanced Recovery and previously chaired the Hartford Region of Hartford Health- Care and the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford. Bexorg, a New Haven-based biotechnology company developing therapies for neurological diseases, has appointed Bruce Car as chief scientific officer and Michael Fenn as chief business officer. Car joins from Biohaven, where he served as chief scientific officer. He previously held the same role at Agios Pharmaceuticals and spent 25 years in drug discovery and transla- tional medicine leadership positions at Bristol Myers Squibb and its predecessor companies. Fenn joins from Iaso Ventures, where he was a venture partner focused on central nervous system investments. He previ- ously worked in business devel- opment, asset licensing and company building across the biopharmaceutical industry. The Connecticut Health Foun- dation, a Hartford-based nonprofit focused on improving health equity, has named Alvin W. Thompson chair of its board of directors and elected Moy Ogilvie to its board. Thompson, who has served on the board since 2020, is a U.S. District Court judge for the District of Connecticut and previously was managing partner at Robinson+Cole. He succeeds Chekesha Kidd as board chair. Ogilvie is a partner at McCarter & English, where she leads the firm's Culture & Inclusion Committee. The foundation also named Hector Glynn, president and CEO of The Village for Families & Children, vice chair.
