She oversees strategy, finance, operations, gover- nance and capital planning. Since joining HPA in 2024 after a private-sector career in finance, Kevin Barros is president of The Computer Co. Inc., where he oversees strategic planning, operations, cyber- security, compliance, infrastructure, datacenter operations and business development. He started the company as a sole pro- prietor and has led its growth through organic expansion and acquisitions completed in 2017 and 2020, growing the organization to approximately 50 M&A, consulting and advisory work, she has led a major organizational restructuring and modernization effort to strengthen HPA and posi- tion the organization to better serve its stakeholders. Her work focuses on fiscal responsibility, workforce development, compliance and accountability, while strategically advancing capital and infrastructure priorities that support Hartford's economic development and protect community interests and public funds. What's been your biggest profes- sional accomplishment so far in your career? Prior to HPA, I would have pointed to my role supporting an oilfield-ser- vices M&A roll-up financed by a $210 million high-yield bond offering. Most recently, I would point to leading the structuring of the mul- timillion-dollar funding and phasing strategy for the Main-and-Trumbull (MAT) Garage capital improvement plan during a period of constrained city bonding capacity and ongoing challenges in the commercial real estate market. What's been your biggest profes- sional accomplishment so far in your career? I am most proud of building a one- person startup into a 50-employee technology company serving organiza- tions throughout the region. I led two successful acquisitions, expanded our cybersecurity and datacenter capabil- ities, and guided the company through both SOC 2 Type 2 and CMMC Level 2 certifi cations. Most importantly, I have built long- term client relationships and helped organizations grow and operate more effectively through technology. How are you involved in the community? I enjoy supporting the local business community through technology edu- cation, cybersecurity awareness and compliance guidance. I participate in industry events, speak on technology and security topics, and work closely with organizations to help them address challenges and reduce risk. I also support members of the local Portuguese community by providing business guidance, mentorship and advice to entrepreneurs and business owners.
