Family-owned distillery relocates to Windsor Connecticut craft distillery Powdermen Spirits Co. has relocated from Simsbury to Windsor, doubling its footprint as it expands production. The family-owned business, which produces small-batch bourbon annual revenue and employs seven to nine people, depending on the season. The vessel has operated in Mystic since 1986. Defense tech company moves HQ to Connecticut Defense technology company Quantum Cyber has completed its $2.3 million purchase of a Bridgeport factory and relocated its corporate headquarters from Florida to Norwalk. The Nasdaq-listed company, which is developing autonomous drone and counter-drone systems for military and border security applications, said its subsidiary, Quantum Drones Corp., closed July 15 on the purchase of the roughly 50,000-square-foot industrial property at 38 Union Ave. The Bridgeport facility will serve as the company's manufacturing hub as it shifts from technology licensing to producing defense systems. The headquarters relocation Mass. trucking company revives Manchester terminal proposal A Massachusetts refrigerated trucking company has revived plans for a truck terminal in Manchester after local offi- cials rejected the original proposal earlier this year over wetlands concerns. The real estate arm of Apache Trucking, which transports refrig- erated food products throughout the Northeast, is seeking approval to develop a 12-acre parcel at 51 Commerce Road into the compa- ny's dispatch, logistics and admin- istrative hub. The proposal includes an 8,100-square-foot building, truck maintenance garage and parking for 95 tractor-trailers. The project requires Planning and Zoning Commission approval. Mystic sailing cruise business hits the market Argia Mystic Cruises, a longtime sailing tourism business in Mystic, is up for sale for only the second time in its history. Owner Capt. Amy Blumberg is selling the business after 25 years, saying it is thriving and ready for new ownership. The business operates the 81-foot schooner Argia, which offers public day sails and private charters and carries about 20,000 passengers annually. Contributed Image Otis Worldwide is moving to leased space in West Hartford Center at 29 S. Main St. Photo | CoStar Otis to relocate HQ to West Hartford E levator and escalator manufacturer Otis Worldwide announced it will relocate its headquarters from Farmington to West Hartford in 2027. Otis has leased 31,790 square feet at 29 S. Main St. in West Hartford Center. The company said the move will not affect its Connecticut operations or workforce, which totals about 1,000 employees statewide. Otis' current headquarters is at 1 Carrier Place in Farmington, where the company leases office space housing its CEO's office and global teams including human resources, sales and marketing, communications, investor relations, digital technology, finance, accounting and legal. The relocation follows the company's sale in December of its 188,430-square-foot industrial and office facility at 212 W. Newberry Road in Bloomfield, which it then leased back through 2027. Otis said it is evaluating its real estate footprint to improve efficiency and support its long-term strategy. Continued on next page
