The company says it now delivers more than 1 million packages daily across the U.S. and internationally. Henkel wins $1.4M tax break for Trumbull R&D center German manufacturer Henkel has secured up to $1.4 million in state sales and use tax exemptions to support construction of a new research and development facility in Trumbull. The incentive was approved by Connecticut Innovations' loan committee under the state's Connecticut Sales & Use Tax Relief Program, which provides qualifying economic development projects with exemptions on sales taxes for capital equipment and construction materials. The tax relief will support Henkel's planned Center for Research & Development at 9 Trefoil Drive. The company broke ground on the project in March and plans to convert a 45,000-square-foot office building into a research facility that will consolidate its consumer brands R&D teams currently operating from three Connecticut locations. The project is expected to cost more than $70 million and open by the end of 2027. Henkel's North American headquarters is in Rocky Hill. Legrand acquires Indiana power systems manufacturer West Hartford-based electrical and digital building infrastructure manufac- turer Legrand said it has acquired Indi- ana-based Girtz Industries, continuing its expansion in the fast-growing data center infrastructure market. Girtz manufactures modular power systems used in data centers and other facilities. The company employs about 300 people and generates roughly $80 million in annual revenue. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition is Legrand's third major data center power infrastructure purchase in less than a year. Legrand said the deal expands its portfolio of products used in data centers, a sector that has seen signif- icant growth as companies invest in infrastructure to support cloud computing and artificial intelligence. Manchester's Pursuit Aerospace acquires Canadian aerospace manufacturer Manchester's Pursuit Aerospace has acquired Quebec-based Leesta Indus- tries, a manufacturer of flight-safe- ty-critical aircraft engine components. Leesta manufactures engine compo- nents for commercial and military aircraft and counts Pratt & Whitney among its customers. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Pursuit said the acquisition will expand its manufacturing capabilities and add expertise in automation and other advanced production technologies. Formed through the 2023 merger of Whitcraft Group and Paradigm Precision, Pursuit manufactures components used in commercial and military aircraft engines. The company operates 18 facilities across seven states and four countries and said Leesta is its fifth acquisition since its founding. CT PE firm to acquire Pizza Hut in $1.5B deal Stamford-based private equity firm LongRange Capital has agreed to acquire Pizza Hut's global operations, excluding mainland China, from Yum Brands for $1.5 billion. LongRange said the deal is the largest acquisition in its seven-year history. Founded in 2019 by former Baupost Group executive Bob Berlin, the firm invests in midsize companies in North America and Europe. Founded in 1958, Pizza Hut operates more than 15,500 restaurants in 108 countries and generates about $10 billion in annual sales. SpeedX leased space at 78 Rebeschi Drive, in North Haven.
