America at 250:
Building on a Legacy of Opportunity
A
s America approaches its 250th birthday, it's a
good time to reflect on the opportunities that
have made our country strong and allowed
businesses, families, and communities to grow.
For me, that reflection is personal.
My grandfather founded F.W. Madigan Company in Worcester
in 1937, during the Great Depression. My father carried us
through the highs and lows of the 1960's, '70's, '80's and '90's.
My brother led us for nearly two decades in the early 2000's.
Today, I am proud to be leading our business as the fourth
generation of our family, honored to carry on the Madigan
traditions of hard work, determination, teamwork and
optimism. rilled to know that next year we will celebrate our
90th year in business, serving Worcester, Massachusetts and
greater New England.
Our story is one example of what is possible in the United
States of America. A small family business, built from the
ground up with one pickup truck and a dream to succeed,
has been able to grow, adapt, and create opportunities for
generations of employees and partners. Along the way, we've
helped build schools, healthcare facilities, manufacturing
plants, and other projects that serve our communities every
day.
None of that happens alone. Our success has always depended on dedicated employees, loyal clients, skilled trade
partners, and a region that values hard work and innovation.
As we look ahead, our great country continues to offer tremendous opportunity. Investments in infrastructure,
healthcare, education, and manufacturing are shaping the future, and construction will remain an important part of
turning those investments into reality.
As we approach both America's 250th birthday and our company's 90th year, I am grateful for the foundation built by
previous generations and optimistic about the future. e American story has always been a story of people willing to
build something lasting, and we are honored to play a small part in that tradition.
My family and I wish our country, our community, our employees, and our neighbors continued success, dreams
realized, and every reason to be hopeful about the future we are building together.
