"In many ways, I've been preparing my whole career for this opportunity," Alex Bartholomew said. "I've learned everything from client interactions to operations to markets investment portfolios. at gives me that full- picture context to be able to lead the company." e transition will see Alex retain his title as chief investment officer, while Tom will continue to serve as lead advisor to his clients and be involved in strategic decision making, the company announced June 11. Alex joined the firm in 2009 aer receiving an MBA from Bryant University in Rhode Island, according to his LinkedIn profile, later taking on the titles of vice president in 2013 and senior vice president, chief investment officer in 2018. e company will continue to grow under his watch, he said. "We've been doing a lot of really important strategic hiring and setting the company up for future growth," Alex Bartholomew said. "We're really excited at the direction the firm is going." e firm manages nearly $6 billion in private wealth and institutional business assets, with Tom Bartholomew named by Barron's as one of the Top 100 Financial Advisors in 2025 and 2026. "Alex is an exceptional leader, and I have complete confidence in his ability to lead Bartholomew & Co. into its next chapter." Founded in 1994, the firm is based in the Guaranty Building at 370 Main St. in Downtown Worcester, with an additional office in Framingham.
