28 HARTFORDBUSINESS.COM | MAY 18, 2026 Movers & Shakers Ajay Goyal, Adrian Gould and Kenneth Askins have been appointed to new roles in Connecticut at Massa- chusetts-based Westfield Bank. Goyal has joined as retail banking officer and branch manager of the bank's West Hartford office. He brings more than 25 years of banking and branch management experience and has held leadership roles at several national banks. Gould has been promoted to vice president and branch manager of the bank's Enfield office. He joined West- field Bank in 2021 and previously served as assistant vice president and branch manager. Askins has been promoted to assistant vice president and mort- gage loan officer. Based in Granby, he works with customers on home purchase and refinancing loans. Longtime state Sen. Martin Looney announced he will not seek reelection this fall after 46 years as a lawmaker. Looney, a New Haven Democrat, has served as Senate president pro tem since 2015 and is the longest-serving leader in the cham- ber's history. He played a key role in advancing legislation including paid family and medical leave, mandatory paid sick leave and increases to the state minimum wage. Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff (D-Norwalk) is expected to succeed Looney as the Senate's top leader. Ilene J. Frank has been appointed executive director and CEO of the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History, a Hart- ford-based nonprofit museum, library and research center. Frank succeeds Robert A. Kret, who is retiring after leading the organiza- tion for seven years. Frank has worked at the museum for a decade and most recently served as deputy executive director and chief strategy officer. She will oversee a staff of 55 and a $5 million budget. The museum, founded in 1825, serves more than 64,000 visi- tors annually. Adin Hamzabegovic, Alicia-Ann Duncanson and Eric Curry have been named vice presidents and commercial loan officers at regional lender Westfield Bank, which is based in Massachusetts. They are based in West Hartford. Hamzabegovic joins with about 10 years of experience in business banking and relation- ship management at national banks. He holds a bachelor's degree from Central Connecticut State University and an MBA from Boston University. Duncanson has more than 25 years of experience in commer- cial lending, including roles as a lender, portfolio manager and relationship manager at Connecticut banks. She holds a finance and real estate degree from the University of Connecticut. Curry was promoted from vice president, portfolio manager, a role he held since joining the bank in 2023, and previously worked as a portfolio manager at another regional bank. He holds a business administration degree from Texas A&M Universi- ty-Corpus Christi. Ashley Dunn has been named CEO of New Horizons Inc., a Unionville-based nonprofit that provides housing, healthcare and community-based services. She succeeds Carol A. Fitzgerald, who retired after 11 years with the organization, including eight as CEO. Dunn will oversee operations and strategy for the nonprofit, which operates New Horizons Village, Cherry Brook Healthcare Center and New Horizons Middlebury. She was selected following a national search. Joey Listro has been named executive director of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association, a nonprofit that maintains the state's Blue-Blazed Hiking Trail system and advocates for conservation and forest management. Listro previously founded and led New Britain ROOTS, a nonprofit focused on urban agriculture, environmental education and community stewardship. Alex Alcala has assumed the roles of president and CEO of Crane Co., a Stamford-based manufacturer of engineered components used in aerospace, defense, space and industrial applications. Alcala succeeded Max Mitchell, who moved into the role of executive chairman as part of a planned leader- ship transition effective April 27.
