(CHA) is more than an organization — it is a coordinated force for stability, dignity and opportunity across Connecticut. Es- tablished in 2018, CHA was created with a clear purpose: to strengthen and unify the impact of two long-standing, deeply rooted nonprofits: Mercy Housing & Shelter Corporation and My Sisters' Place. While each affiliate maintains its own identity and mission, together they form a powerful network of care that serves more than 6,000 individuals and families each year. At the heart of CHA's work is a simple but urgent belief: Everyone deserves a safe place to call home. My Sisters' Place, founded in 1982, began as a small shelter for women with infants. Over the decades, it has evolved into a vital community resource, offering supportive and affordable hous- ing, housing coordination, and flexible financial assistance. Its work reaches deep into Hartford neighborhoods, helping families and individuals not only secure housing, but maintain it — creating long-term stability where it's needed most. Mercy Housing & Shelter Corporation, founded in 1983 by the Sisters of Mercy, began with a mission to provide immediate relief — shelter, meals and basic necessities — to individuals experiencing homelessness. Today, Mercy's impact spans an entire comprehensive network of support.
