Financial terms were not disclosed. State officials have said a tie-up with UConn Health would help stabilize both hospitals, which have faced years of financial strain. The moves follow UConn Health's recent acquisition of Waterbury Hospital, as more independent hospi- tals in Connecticut pursue partnerships to remain financially viable. Hartford sues fire truck makers, alleges price-fixing scheme The city of Hartford has filed a federal lawsuit accusing major fire truck manufacturers and a private equity firm of illegally consolidating the industry, inflating prices and delaying for up to 73 workers per shift. Electric Boat said the warehouse will help shift support operations off water- front sites. The building is expected to open in mid-2027. UConn Health signs LOIs with Day Kimball, Bristol Health UConn Health has signed letters of intent with Day Kimball Hospital and Bristol Health, advancing plans to expand its network of affiliated hospitals. The agreements mark initial steps toward bringing both organizations into the UConn Health system. The transactions will require approval from the state Office of Health Strategy, with Electric Boat breaks ground on North Stonington warehouse Electric Boat has broken ground on a 480,000-square-foot warehouse in North Stonington to support subma- rine production at its Groton and Quonset Point shipyards. The company paid $5.5 million for the nearly 55-acre site at 45 Frontage Road, just off Interstate 95, acquiring it from the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. The facility will store parts from suppliers nationwide for Virginia- and Columbia-class submarines. Hartford Hospital details new $950M patient tower as part of $1B campus overhaul H artford Hospital has unveiled plans for a $950 million, 14-story patient tower as part of a broader, more than $1 billion effort to modernize its Hart- ford campus and expand care capacity. The tower will include about 250 private patient rooms and three floors of procedure space, with updated technology and design intended to support higher-acuity care. Plans also call for a new patient arrival center to serve as the hospital's main entrance, along with a redesigned campus featuring more natural light and a healing garden. The project aims to ease emergency department over- crowding and expand cancer and infusion services, the hospital said. The tower is expected to open in 2031.
