relocated to Houston
T
he Connecticut Sun are being sold and will
relocate to Houston after the 2026 season.
The deal, valued at about $300 million,
would set a record price for a WNBA franchise. The
buyers are affiliated with ownership of the Houston
Rockets, the Fertitta family.
The team will play the 2026 season in Uncas-
ville before relocating in 2027. The franchise was
put up for sale in 2024 and drew multiple bids,
including efforts to keep the team in Connecticut.

Henkel breaks ground on
$70M R&D facility in Trumbull
Germany-based consumer goods
company Henkel has broken ground
on a new research and development
facility in Trumbull, expanding its
Connecticut footprint.
The company is converting a
45,000-square-foot office building
at 9 Trefoil Drive into a center for its
North America Consumer Brands R&D
teams. The project, valued at more
than $70 million, is Henkel's largest
non-manufacturing investment in
North America in the past decade, the
company said.

Newly formed Bloomfield
manufacturer Arxis, tied to
Kaman Corp., files for IPO
Bloomfield-based industrial manu-
facturer Arxis Inc., which includes
operations from Kaman Corp., has
filed for an initial public offering.
Backed by private equity firm
Arcline Investment Management, the
company plans to list on the Nasdaq,
according to a filing with the U.S.
Securities and Exchange Commission.
Pricing and timing were not disclosed.
Formed in 2025, Arxis combines
Liberty Bank plans Boston
loan office
Middletown-based Liberty
Bank has applied to open a loan
production office in Boston,
expanding its push into the eastern
Massachusetts market.
The bank, with $8.9 billion in assets,
on March 17 filed an application with
state regulators to establish the office
at 60 State St., on the 38th Floor. The
proposed opening date is May 1.
The move follows Liberty's recent
hiring of residential loan officers in
eastern Massachusetts and plans
to add commercial lenders, part
of a broader growth strategy that
includes geographic expansion
beyond Connecticut.
Loan production offices typically
focus on originating loans but do not
accept deposits.
DATTCO acquires Watertown
bus company Land/Jet
New Britain transportation
company DATTCO Inc. has acquired
Watertown-based bus operator
Land/Jet, expanding its presence
in western Connecticut and into
New York.
Terms of the deal were
not disclosed.
The acquisition adds 10 buses
to DATTCO's fleet, with about half
expected to be replaced with newer
vehicles. DATTCO said it will retain
Land/Jet's employees and may add
