The facility will include six tennis courts — one also lined for four pick- leball courts — along with a basketball court and lighting for nighttime use. It will be named for Vin Baker, the former Hartford basketball standout and four- time NBA All-Star who is now an assis- tant coach with the Milwaukee Bucks. University officials said the complex will support intramural and club sports programs and provide additional space for the school's NCAA Division III teams. Construction will be funded in part through alumni donations. BL Companies CEO to retire at end of 2026 Meriden-based architecture, engi- neering and environmental consulting firm BL Companies said President and CEO Carolyn Stanworth will retire at the end of 2026 after 27 years with the company. Stanworth has led the employ- ee-owned firm since 2010. She joined BL in 1999 as chief financial officer, was promoted to chief operating officer in 2003 and became president and CEO during the Great Recession. Following her retirement, Vice Presi- dent of Operations Derek Kohl and Vice President of Operations and General Counsel Julia O'Brien will serve as co-presidents. Stanworth will remain on BL Companies' board of directors as an external member. BL Companies employs more than 375 people across multiple states. Revolut eyes Stamford HQ amid U.S. bank charter push British fintech Revolut plans to base a new U.S. banking headquarters in Stamford as it seeks a national bank charter from federal regulators. The London-based company said it has applied to the Office of the Comp- troller of the Currency and Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. If approved, Revolut Bank US N.A. would operate nationwide, offering FDIC-insured deposits, credit cards and loans. A spokesperson said the company has not yet signed a lease in Stam- ford but is looking for space. She noted the company operates as a remote-first employer. Revolut serves more than 70 million customers globally and about 1 million in the U.S. State officials, including AdvanceCT, spent the past year recruiting the firm, citing Connecticut's fintech ecosystem and workforce as key factors. Uline begins hiring for Plainfield distribution center Wisconsin-based office and industrial supplies distributor Uline has begun hiring more than 200 employees for its new distribution center in Plainfield, with operations expected to begin in July. Available positions include ware- house associates, mechanics, custo- dians, warehouse management and human resources roles. The company is offering a $5,000 hiring bonus along with benefits including health coverage, a 401(k) and tuition assistance. The 1.3 million-square-foot facility could eventually employ up to 500 workers. Uline, founded in 1980, currently serves New England from a distribution center in Allentown, Penn- sylvania.
