B2 HARTFORDBUSINESS.COM | MARCH 9, 2026 MEET CT'S 2026 BEST PLACES TO WORK W orkforce pressures remain a defining issue for Connecticut employers, even as hiring conditions have stabilized compared with the height of the post-pandem- ic labor crunch. At the same time, competition for skilled workers continues, pushing companies to refine how they recruit, support and retain employees — from benefit design to workplace flexibility and culture. Today, we reveal the 2026 Best Places to Work in Connecticut, recognizing 38 employ- ers whose workplace practices stood out based on employee surveys and an independent evaluation process. is year's winners were again vetted, chosen and ranked by Workforce Research Group, a third-party research firm led by President Peter Burke. In addition to selecting the honorees, the firm provided survey data highlighting com- mon practices among the state's top workplaces. Among this year's winners: • 68% offer an employer match or other formal contribution to employees' retirement sav- ings plans; • 100% coordinate fun activities for employ- ees, and all have structured systems for recognizing employee achievements; • On average, they cover about 82% of health insurance premium costs for employees and 66% for dependents; • On average, 35% of employees work remotely. Beyond benefits, survey responses show strong employee sentiment among the win- ning companies. Among workers surveyed: • 93% said they are enthusiastic about their work; • 92% said they are satisfied with their organi- zation; • 94% said they would endorse their employer; • 94% said they find purpose in their work; • 85% said they have fun at work. While this special section celebrates this year's honorees, it is also intended as a practi- cal guide for other employers seeking ways to build engaged, resilient workforces.
