Norway Savings Bank announced Homeless Animal Rescue Team of Maine in Cumberland was the re- cipient of its annual "Patricia Weigel Pay it Forward Award." The nonprofit received $10,000 as part of the award. The bank also said it donated a total of $14,500 to United Way of Southern Maine, United Way of Mid Coast Maine and United Way of Western Maine. The Professional Logging Contractors of the Northeast in Augusta said it raised a total of $292,746 for Children's Miracle Network in 2025 through its an- nual Log A Load for Kids fundrais- ing efforts. The city of Augusta hired KRT Appraisal in Haverhill, Mass., to conduct a revaluation of all proper- ties in the city. The revaluation will include five phases: sales review and validation, market analysis, valuation, field review and informal hearings. The Maine Association of Realtors Foundation, the charitable arm of the Maine Association of Realtors in Augusta, said it awarded $175,000 to match local grants to 25 organizations providing housing and/or fuel assistance to people with low incomes in 2025. United Way of Kennebec Valley in Augusta announced that it raised $2 million during its 2025 campaign. The University of Maine at Farmington partnered with the River Management Society in Takoma Park, Md., to offer the River Studies and Leadership Certificate, creat- ing opportunities for students to explore the multi-disciplinary founda- tions of careers studying, managing and protecting rivers. The Finance Authority of Maine in Augusta announced the 24 allo- catees for the newly recapitalized 2026 Maine New Markets Capital Investment Program.
