We remain committed to delivering local insight, big- league CRE experience, integrity, and results. ank You Bowditch to merge with Boston law firm Longtime Worcester law firm Bowditch & Dewey has announced a merger with Boston-based Kenney & Sams, creating a combined firm with a footprint across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. e merger, effective Jan. 1, will see the newly merged firm operate under the Bowditch & Dewey name, with of- fices in Worcester, Boston, Framingham, Plymouth, and Providence. "Since we had folks depart in 2024, it has been a priority for us to add more attorneys, particularly in our litigation group," Bowditch Managing Partner John Shoro said. In 2024, Based-based Prince Lobel opened a Worcester office, hiring long- time Bowditch lawyer Michael Angelini and other major Bowditch legal minds in the process, including a significant portion of Bowditch's litigation depart- ment. Since that time, Bowditch has been looking to make an acquisition in order to enhance its litigation department, Shoro said. Majority of Solomon Pond Mall sold for $8.5M Big changes may be on the horizon for Marlborough's Solomon Pond Mall, as a large portion of the site has been sold to an Ohio-based property redeveloper for $8.5 million as part of the mall's receivership. e parcels were purchased by Industrial Commercial Properties, an Ohio-based firm which bought the last undeveloped part of Worcester's CitySquare for $4.2 million in July. e transaction included major com- ponents of the mall owned by Mall at Solomon Pond LLC, an entity managed by Simon Property Group. e parcels include the mall's food court and most of its smaller storefronts. Tenants in the Simon-owned portion of the mall in- clude H&M, Lids, Old Navy, and a Regal Cinemas location. e Mall at Solomon Pond entity filed for bankruptcy in March. e mall was placed in receivership in 2021 aer Si- mon Property Group, the mall's original developer, could not reach an agreement with its lender to modify the terms of its mortgage.
