Plans include reconfig- uring the roadway, restriping, adding a center turn lane, improving lighting and installing buffered bicycle lanes, planters and vehicle feedback signs. Fabian Oil has opened an office at 104 Pleasant St. in Brunswick. Atlantic Federal Credit Union Foun- dation in South Portland awarded a $30,000 grant to York County Community Action Corp. to sup- port its mission to provide programs and resources that promote stability, self-sufficiency and brighter financial futures. The foundation also provided a $10,000 grant to Maine Needs and delivered more than 220 hygiene kits to help meet a sharp seasonal in- crease in requests for basic self-care items across Maine. Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery announced that the Los Angeles-class attack submarine USS Cheyenne completed its Engineered Refueling Overhaul availability. The submarine was the first to undergo an overhaul as part of the Service Life Extension Program, extending its total service life beyond 44 years. The Portland Water District board of trustees approved a $69.4 million operating budget for 2026, repre- senting a 6.5% increase over the prior year.
