O'Neil elevated to executive director at Blackstone chamber Liz O'Neil has been promoted from her role as director of programming and events at the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce to the newly-created title of executive director. Joining the chamber six years ago, O'Neil's new role will see her con- tinue to oversee programming, events, and day- to-day operations, with the new title meant to reflect her contributions to the organiza- tion, according to a press release issued by the chamber on Dec. 4. O'Neil is second-in-command to Jeannie Hebert, who's led the chamber for the past 17 years. "I am pleased to announce Liz's well-deserved title elevation," Hebert said in the press release. "Over the past six years at the BVCC, she has demon- strated her ability to wear many different hats well. We are a small but mighty team here, and Liz has risen to the task, whatever it may be, to ensure that our standards of quality are always carried out. is move strengthens our lead- ership team and ensures the continued excellence of our programming, with my full focus remaining on the strate- gic direction and overall growth of the Chamber." Airlines now can receive up to $250,000 in marketing support and two years of waived fees if they add Worcester to their schedules. While ORH doesn't have any specific destinations it's preparing to add, Airport Director Andrew Davis said high demand markets include Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta.
