The event featured three panel discussions examining Connecticut's energy future, including a fireside chat on grid reliability and economic development, a session on renewable and zero-carbon electricity, and a panel focused on stabilizing energy costs and infrastructure investments. The event's sponsors were Avangrid, Eversource Energy, Harris Beach Murtha, Connecticut Green Bank and ReNew Developers. Photos were by Luke Wayne Photography. Guests enjoy networking at the Society Room. Attendees filled the Society Room in downtown Hartford for HBJ's The Business of Energy event. The first panel (Powering Connecticut's Future) featured Anne George, vice president, chief of external affairs and communications of ISO New England, and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Daniel O'Keefe. Steve Sullivan, president of Connecticut electric operations for Eversource Energy, gives welcome remarks. Frank Reynolds, president and CEO of United Illuminating, a subsidiary of Avangrid Inc., speaks at HBJ's energy forum. The final panel (Stabilizing Energy Costs and Infrastructure Investments in Connecticut) featured moderator Daniel Canavan (Harris Beach Murtha), David Arconti (Public Utilities Regulatory Authority), State Sen. Ryan Fazio, State Sen. John Fonfara, Tom Quinn (Nuovo Pasta Productions) and John Matheson (ReNew Developers). Alfred Casella, managing partner of Harris Beach Murtha's Hartford office, welcomes guests to the event. The second panel (Renewable Energy and Zero Carbon Electricity in the U.S.) included Digaunto Chatterjee, senior vice president of engineering at Eversource; Mackey Dykes, executive vice president of financing programs at Connecticut Green Bank; and Benton Arnett, senior director, markets and policy at the Nuclear Energy Institute.
