Cease-and-desist letters accuse the companies of offering unlicensed Wadsworth adopts new name and brand Hartford's Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art is now branding itself simply as The Wadsworth, unveiling the first full rebranding in its 183-year history. The museum worked with Saffron Brand Consultants over nearly a year to update its name, logo, typeface and color palette, drawing inspiration from historic lettering and architectural elements inside the building. Officials said the shorter name reflects community feedback and aims to broaden engagement while preserving the institution's heritage. HBJ Photo | Steve Laschever Hartford Foundation plans new $35M headquarters T he Hartford Foundation for Public Giving plans to build a new $35 million headquarters at Albany Avenue and Main Street, creating what it calls a community "gateway" to Hartford's North End. The announcement came during the foundation's centennial celebration at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts. Foundation President and CEO Jay Williams said moving from a downtown office tower to a street-level location will bring the organization closer to residents. The two-story, 30,000- to 35,000-square-foot building is being designed by JCJ Architecture, with construction expected to begin in spring 2026 and wrap up in early 2028. The foundation also announced that it will change its name to the Greater Hartford Gives Foundation in January.
