"sports event contracts," which
officials argue are bets — not invest-
ments — and require a state license.
Regulators say the platforms lack
consumer protections, including age
verification and technical safeguards,
and allegedly targeted individuals
under 21 and people on the state's
self-exclusion list.
The action comes amid national
scrutiny of prediction markets that
blur lines between gambling and
trading. Only DraftKings, FanDuel and
Fanatics are licensed to offer online
sports wagering in Connecticut.

Newington-based PCX Aerosystems
has merged with California's Applied
Aerospace to form Applied Aerospace

facturer serving the aircraft, space and
missile sectors.
The rebrand comes ahead of a lead-
ership change: Allison Blais, formerly
with the 9/11 Memorial & Museum,
will become president and CEO on
Jan. 7, succeeding Jeffrey N. Brown.

Wadsworth adopts new
name and brand
Hartford's Wadsworth Atheneum
Museum of Art is now branding itself
simply as The Wadsworth, unveiling
the first full rebranding in its 183-year
history.
The museum worked with Saffron
Brand Consultants over nearly a year
to update its name, logo, typeface and
color palette, drawing inspiration from
historic lettering and architectural
elements inside the building.
Officials said the shorter name
reflects community feedback and
aims to broaden engagement while
preserving the institution's heritage.
An image from The Wadsworth's new branding materials features the museum's updated
wordmark and slogan, "1842 – ONWARD."

Hartford Foundation plans
new $35M headquarters
T
he Hartford Foundation for Public Giving plans to build a new $35 million headquarters at Albany
Avenue and Main Street, creating what it calls a community "gateway" to Hartford's North End.
The announcement came during the foundation's centennial celebration at the Bushnell
Center for the Performing Arts. Foundation President and CEO Jay Williams said moving from a
downtown office tower to a street-level location will bring the organization closer to residents.
The two-story, 30,000- to 35,000-square-foot building is being designed by JCJ Architecture,
with construction expected to begin in spring 2026 and wrap up in early 2028. The foundation also
announced that it will change its name to the Greater Hartford Gives Foundation in January.
