Brought to- gether – or really, set up – by mutual friends at a party in 2022, the couple built a relationship around their shared history as Leominster natives. The two threw themselves into a life of adventure and grew into what Faith calls "the best versions of ourselves" before getting engaged in March 2024. Just over one year later, they exchanged vows in their new hometown of Groton with a celebration that was warm, ro- mantic and deeply personal – with just a sprinkle of rain that did nothing to dampen their joy. HOW WE MET We "re-met" in March 2022. Though it wasn't our first real meeting, it felt like reconnecting with an old friend. Sabrina says it was love at first sight while Faith knew by the end of the first date she'd found the one: Sabrina changed a flat tire after Faith hit a pothole in a down- pour. THE PROPOSAL Sabrina planned the perfect "date night" at home, Faith shares. She was dressed in a suit, and when Faith walked into the apartment, it felt like something out of a romance movie. There were rose petals scattered everywhere, candles glowing, and the smell of a homemade dinner filling the air. Before we could even sit down to eat, Sabrina couldn't wait another second. With words of adoration, she dropped to one knee in the middle of the apart- ment and asked Faith to marry her. It was heartfelt, earnest, and completely perfect. THE WEDDING DAY Our wedding at The Groton Inn was everything we dreamed it would be. From the moment we stepped onto the property, we felt at home. The charm of the venue, with its cozy fireplaces and el- egant New England feel, was the perfect backdrop for such a meaningful day. We wanted the vibe to be cozy and personal, with a classic feel and a few twists on tradition. We chose to have a small wedding so we could truly connect with our guests and be present through- out the day. Instead of waiting until the recep- tion, we joined everyone during cock- tail hour to mix and mingle before our grand entrance. To create an inviting atmosphere, we used lots of candles and small vases in our centerpieces to make each table feel full and warm. Soft light- ing and personal touches were woven throughout the event to make everyone feel genuinely welcomed and appreciat- ed. We even included wedding games to get the crowd involved and liven things up toward the end of the night. SPECIAL TOUCHES As a queer couple, there's no set play- book for navigating a traditionally gen- dered event like a wedding, so we had a lot of figuring out to do. We chose to have two maids of honor. We wanted to add a fun and unexpected element for our guests, so we hid our wedding rings under one of the ceremony chairs and, just before exchanging them, asked ev- eryone to check under their seats to see who would be the lucky "ring bearer". After the ceremony, we took time to sign our marriage license privately, grounding the day in an intimate, quiet celebration of our commitment. Later that evening, we shared a private last dance, surrounded by the soft glow of candlelight and the stillness of a room that had just held so much joy and en- ergy. MOMENT WE'LL ALWAYS TREASURE Reading our vows to each other. Hearing each other's personal thoughts and perspectives on how we see and feel for each other was truly exciting, emo- tional, and deeply bonding. n THE GROTON INN Groton www.thegrotoninn.com @thegrotoninn The experience was flawless from start to finish. The standout was Eleanor Keydal, the Sales & Events Manager. On the big day, we didn't have to worry about a single thing. From setup to breakdown, everything was handled with care and precision by Eleanor and her team. Vendor List COUPLE'S PICK
