The moment finally ar- rived during a trip to the Outerbanks of North Carolina, the state they now call home. Katie and Scott knew they'd trav- el to their native Massachusetts to take their vows. When the long-awaited day arrived, it wasn't just a blissful wedding– it was a reunion with all the people they loved the most. HOW WE MET We met through mutual friends in our college dorm; Katie shot Scott in the face with a Nerf gun at a friend's surprise par- ty. Four months later, we started dating. THE PROPOSAL We were visiting the Outer Banks, looking for seaglass on the beach along with our dear friend, Sara. Scott bent over to show Katie what he'd found – not a piece of glass, but an engagement ring. After 13 years, it was finally happening. Of course, Katie said "Yes!" THE WEDDING DAY Katie grew up in Mendon and both bride and groom have a large network of family and friends in Massachu- setts. Highfields Golf and Country Club in Grafton was an ideal Central Massachusetts venue for our outdoor ceremony and ballroom reception with panoramic views of the golf course. The attentive staff made all the difference, and the best part was the affordability of the wedding packages! Choosing a full-service venue made it easy to plan from afar. "The wedding was perfect with everyone we love to- gether, blending our families. We had the best night dancing and spending time with people we have not seen in years." SPECIAL TOUCHES We found so many ways to incor- porate loved ones – both with us and departed – into our wedding day. Our friend Sara, who was there for the pro- posal, served as officiant. A memory ta- ble honored our late grandparents, and Katie crafted a ringbearer pillow using doilies her paternal grandmother made. We also had a caricaturist who all of our guests loved! MOMENT WE'LL ALWAYS TREASURE Walking down the aisle, locking eyes with each other, and not seeing anyone else in the world. n HIGHFIELDS GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB 42 Magill Drive Grafton, MA 01519 Tracy Hill, the events coordinator at Highfields, truly made the day perfect!. She helped our wedding flow so easily and was so responsive throughout the process. Vendor List COUPLE'S PICK
