FUNDRAISING EVENTS/ OPPORTUNITIES The Cross for LifeFlight, which takes place every August, is our most important fundraising event. Every mile we "Cross" and every dollar we raise ensures that the next person in Maine who faces a life-threatening medical emergency has access to advanced critical care with the speed of a helicopter. Participants choose where, when, and how they want to "Cross" for LifeFlight, either on their own or at one of our organized events. We welcome support through participation or sponsorship opportunities and are always looking to build new partnerships. GIVING OPPORTUNITIES As the challenges facing health care and EMS in Maine mount, the demand for LifeF light of Maine's ser vices continues to grow. LifeFlight delivers ICU-level care where and when it is needed, serving as a vital connector between Maine communities and the state's larger medical centers. We raise funds for capital projects, including aircraft, aviation and communication inf rastructure, medical equipment, wellness and support for the flight crew, and ongoing education for the LifeFlight team and our EMS partners. Our donors and supporters f rom the business community are essential to our mission. We work with each one to build meaningful partnerships and identify giving opportunities that align with their values and interests. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES Each year through our Community Giving Program, we reach out to municipalities across Maine asking for support. We invite our friends and advocates in each community to help us by speaking in favor of this request for support with their town councilors and at their community's annual budget meeting. LifeFlight is the only EMS service in the state that carries units of blood, which can be lifesaving for patients. We encourage everyone to find a blood drive and roll up their sleeve – LifeFlight partners with the Red Cross several times a year to host blood drives, but appointments with the Red Cross are available daily. We encourage anyone interested in supporting LifeFlight's mission to reach out with their ideas and get involved!
