Shalom House has been opening doors since 1972.
We began as a halfway house for adults living with
severe mental illness in Portland. This home helped
form a groundbreaking model that laid the foundation
for the services we offer today.
Our mission remains strong. We provide a range of
housing options and mental health services that help
people build stability, connection, and lead fulfilling
lives.
Shalom House offers a choice of affordable and safe housing options
ranging from group living and supported housing, to independent
apartments. We also administer housing subsidies to individuals who
qualify.
We offer community-based mental health services to help our clients
gain the skills and confidence they need to achieve their own goals and to
successfully reintegrate into the community.
Lastly, the Shalom House Art Program provides a safe, supportive
environment where artists can freely explore and express ideas, learn new
skills and discover their strengths and abilities.
