What makes this challenge so powerful is the way it blends professional development with purpose. Interns don't just learn how to build a business case—they learn how to develop actionable solutions to address real issues affecting their communities by collaborating, leading with empathy, engage diverse voices, and create solutions that reflect the needs of the communities we serve. Over the years, intern teams have supported a wide range of initiatives— from helping veterans access critical resources, to supporting college readiness programs for high school students, to providing essential services for families in need. ese experiences leave a lasting impression—not just on the communities served, but on the interns themselves. e Intern Community Challenge has become a cornerstone of our internship program because it reflects the values we hold dear: curiosity, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous learning. It's a chance for early-in-career professionals to stretch their skills, build confidence, and discover the kind of leader they aspire to be.
