T
he future is bright.
American and world events
over the past year or two (or de-
cade) haven't exactly been cause
for optimism; and local, state, and national
indicators don't predict a flourishing econ-
omy any time soon. But, long-term, there
are many reasons for hope. e main one?
People.
Over the next 25 pages, you'll read about
the best of what humanity can be, personi-
fied through WBJ's 40 Under Forty, Class of
2025. is year's awards, designed to high-
light the best up-and-coming profession-
als in the Central Massachusetts business
community, showcase two scores of people
who are leveraging their talents and exper-
tise to make their businesses better and give
back to their communities. e winners are
executives, entrepreneurs, and advocates
who are making their marks on our lives
and doing so in kind, generous ways.
ere's Juli True Dooley, who's helping
a community health center overcome a
particularly downtrodden moment in the
industry. ere's Tom White, who's taking
his family business into its next century
and emphasizing sustainable infrastructure
development. ere's Edlin Ortiz, who's
providing paths for Worcester's most at-risk
residents to achieve financial stability and
home ownership. And there's Lexi Brissette,
the youngest winner this year, who's be-
coming a real estate all-star and using her
success to support children battling cancer.
Each of the 40 winners deserves their own
highlight reel, but it's best if you just start
reading.
e economy, the community, and our
collective humanity all boil down to people:
those who lead us, those who do the work,
those who stand up for their beliefs. Over
the next six decades or so, we will be led by
the likes of this year's 40 Under Forty. And
that's reason for hope.
