Partners for World Health in Portland hired John Kuehnle as CEO, effective Sept. 2. Most recently, Kuehnle was health office director for the United States Agency for International Development. CORE, a commercial real estate broker in Portland, hired Vincent Orsini as controller and Heaven Moore as office administrator. Baker Newman Noyes, a CPA and accounting firm in Portland, hired David Lawler as managing director of technology advisory services in its business and technology advi- sory practice. Fyzical Twin City Bangor, a therapy and balance center, hired Izabelle Burtt as a licensed physical therapist assistant. College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor hired Brad Smith as vice president of insti- tutional advance- ment. Smith has 25 years of experience including senior positions at MIT, the Technion and Jackson Labs. Sea Meadow, a nonprofit in Yarmouth dedicated to the working waterfront, hired Gerry Hamann as general manager. The Maine Redevelopment Land Bank Authority in Augusta hired Jennifer Litteral as operations manager and Gabe Gauvin as program manager. Drummond Woodsum, a law firm in Portland, hired Gretchen Jones as an attorney in the firm's business and corporate, and banking and finan- cial services practice groups. Jones has expertise representing businesses and financial institutions in transactional, regulatory and legislative matters. Spinnaker Trust in Portland hired Tim Kaijala as vice presi- dent, deputy chief investment officer. Kaijala was previ- ously director of private markets and a portfolio manager at H.M. Payson. The American Heart Association in Maine announced Aline Iskandar will serve as board president and Dave Abel will continue as board chair for its 2025-26 fiscal year. Iskandar is an interventional cardiologist at Northern Light Mercy Hospital and Abel is president and general man- ager of Channel 8 WMTW and WPXT- Maine's CW, Portland. In addition, Ashley Deeb, marketing manager, Mainely Tubs; Nicole Hardy; director, Lux Box Co.; Eric Jermyn, president, Cross Insurance; Gabrielle LaClerc, comprehensive health planner, state of Maine; Kaila McCracken, vice pres- ident of business intelligence and analysis, MEMIC; and Thomas Miller, pediatric cardiologist, MaineHealth, have been added to the association's board of directors. The College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor added Chris Groobey and Andrew Griffiths to its board of trustees. Groobey is an angel inves- tor, board member and mentor to young companies primarily in the areas of energy, climate tech and hard tech, while Griffiths was pre- viously the college's administrative dean, CFO and interim president. e college also elected Cynthia Baker as board chair.
