Since becoming executive director in 2022, Rose has led the team through a major organizational restructure. She has expanded local programs, added Jennifer Shanley is a partner at Robinson & Cole LLP and focuses her practice on U.S. business immigration matters, helping multinational companies staff their U.S. offices by obtaining the appro- priate immigration status for employees. She also counsels employers on employ- ment verifications, I-9 matters and E-Verify. Shanley uses her Six Sigma Green Belt certification to streamline the immi- gration process for clients, to decrease process variation and increase value. two new positions to the staff, made major research investments and grown fundraising through major gifts, events and foundation support. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career? During my time as executive director, we underwent a major restructure to preserve our local impact and services. We rebranded, set new mission prior- ities and developed updated policies. Despite the uncertainty and added workload, we successfully retained all staff and remained focused on sup- porting the ALS community throughout the transition. Why do you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty? • Compassionate leader, focused on local care for people affected by ALS and their families and ending ALS. • Continue to adapt and expand local programs to help those living with ALS, including a new Smart Home Program. • Increased revenue by 17% in three years as executive director. How are you involved in the community? In addition to attending so many impactful events throughout the state for ALS, I also am involved in my local com- munity. I have two daughters, ages six and eight, so I am actively volunteering in their schools when I can, treasurer of Girl Scouts, and sports teams. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career? My biggest accomplishment so far in my career is helping thousands of foreign nationals secure both temporary and permanent work authorization in the U.S. to fulfil their dream jobs while simultane - ously assisting companies to retain key talent to allow further growth in the U.S. Why do you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty? • Serve as a dedicated resource to multinational companies and organiza- tions on business immigration matters. • Led process improvement program within R+C's Immigration Group, sig- nificantly cutting costs and improving efficiency/quality. How are you involved in the community? I serve as the chair of United Way Women United, a philanthropic organization that raises funds and invests in financial pro- grams for women and their families in the community. I also serve as the sec- retary of Women in Manufacturing CT, an organization dedicated to strengthening the manufacturing sector by supporting, promoting and inspiring women. What do you like to do outside of work? I enjoy being active with my family, swimming, hiking, skating and the like, watching my two boys play hockey, volunteering as part of Women United and United Way and working out. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career? While honored by the professional recognition this award brings, I am most proud of my ability to contribute to my agency's growth. I recently secured a new client account based solely on my track record of success with another local client. I consider this milestone one of my most meaningful achievements. Why do you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty? • Outstanding professional growth and leadership since beginning my career at local radio station, KC101, in 2009. • Proven impact on business develop- ment with the current client base as well as new accounts, adding value to my company. • Commitment to community and personal values, highlighting com- passion and character. How are you involved in the community? I am deeply committed to community service. Throughout the year — espe- cially during the holiday season — I donate both time and resources to local organizations supporting children and animals. I am also an active participant in the Out of the Darkness Walks, benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, a cause that holds great personal significance for me.
