18 40 UNDER FORTY | 2025 AWARDS HARTFORDBUSINESS.COM | AUGUST 11, 2025 Kevin Hoagland is the chief financial officer at Lexington Partners, a fully integrated commercial real estate firm, where he is responsible for accounting and finance operations across the firm, including risk management and controls, treasury, audit, tax, reporting, capital markets and investor relations. Prior to Lexington, Hoagland was vice president of finance at Firmament, a mul- tibillion-dollar New York City-based private equity fund manager. Before Firmament, he was a senior manager at CohnReznick. He is a licensed CPA in Connecticut. Thomas Hyde is chief of staff at AdvanceCT, where he helps drive the state's economic development strategy through public-private collaboration. Previously, he served as chief executive officer of the Naugatuck Valley Regional Development Corp., and executive director of the Waterbury Development Corp., where he led efforts to secure transformative funding and deliver major infrastructure, clean energy and brownfield redevelopment projects. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career? Since joining Lexington in October 2023, I've brought my leadership and expertise to institutionalize our accounting and finance function. I have led the closing of over $100 million in real estate trans- actions, implemented robust controls, improved our approach to risk man- agement and managed new software conversions to improve efficiency, reduce cost and increase effectiveness. How are you involved in the community? Since 2016, I've been a board member of Cherish the Children Foundation, a nonprofit devoted to helping children in need and was recently appointed as treasurer. I'm also a team leader for Movember Foundation, a nonprofit that raises funds and awareness for cancer and mental health. I also enjoy volunteer coaching for boys and girls lacrosse. He has also held senior leadership roles at the Department of Economic and Community Development under Governors Dannel Malloy and Ned Lamont. What's been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career? At the Waterbury Development Corp. I established a new grants office that secured more than $65 million for the city, financing several impactful infrastructure, renewable energy and housing projects. How are you involved in the community? I serve as treasurer of the Connecticut Brownfield Land Bank and am a member of the Farmington Economic Development Commission. In both roles, I advance sustainable redevel - opment and support local economic initiatives that strengthen Connecticut communities.
