Meagher, research@nebusinessmedia.com Consigli acquires NY & NJ operations of construction firm behind Sept. 11 Memorial Group, an entity affiliated with Milford-based Consigli Construction, has agreed to purchase the New Jersey and New York construction operations of Lendlease, a global real estate firm based in Australia. The agreement will see Con- sigli take over 45 current, under contract, or pre-construction projects, according to a press re- lease issued by the company on May 28. Employees associated with these projects will become Consigli workers. "Expanding our New York and New Jersey portfolio with the addition of Lendlease, a highly complementary business to ours, signifies our dedication to growth and excellence in this core market," Anthony Consigli, CEO of Consigli Construction and a member of the WBJ Hall of Fame, said in the press release. Lendlease has been involved in a number of high-profile proj- ects in New York City, including the construction of the National September 11 Memorial & Muse- um and the Central Park Tower, a $3-billion residential skyscraper and the second-tallest building in the city. Other New York City proj- ects the firm has been involved in include various renovations and upgrades to the American Museum of Natural History and an expansion of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Founded in 1905, Consigli Construction has more than 1,800 employees and 13 region- al offices across North America, according to the firm's website.
