Brian Corcoran was named the "2025 community Champion;" Herb Ivy, "2025 Maine Music Community Leader;" Sue Barre, "2025 Maine Music Educator of the Year;" Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Maine, "2025 Community Partner;" and Bayside Bowl, "2025 Community Sponsor." The Maine Small Business Development Centers in Portland selected Christine Cole as its "2025 State Star." Cole is a senior business advisor at the Maine SBDC at University of Southern Maine. e organization also recognized Business Advisors Jon Janson, Dan McDonald, Brendan Craig, Jenn Dobransky, Dion Olmstead and Vien Dobui for receiving their Core Competencies Certification from the New England Professional Development group. Haley Ward Inc., an employee-owned professional engineering, architecture, environmental, planning, BIM and surveying consulting firm, announced that it received a "National Recognition Award" from the American Council of Engineering Companies in the 2025 Engineering Excellence Awards for its work on the Tekakapimek Contact Station at Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument. Bob Steneck, professor emeritus of ocean- ography, marine biology and marine policy at the University of Maine in Orono, was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. e university also announced that Melissa Ladenheim, associate dean of the Honors College, was named the "2025 Outstanding Professional Employee" by the University of Maine Employees Advisory Council. Bar Harbor Bank & Trust honored its employees at its annual Chairman's Dinner and Celebration. Dawn Anderson, vice president director of internal audit; Peter Brockelman, senior vice president CRE/hospitality relationship manager; Mark Giordano, senior vice president enterprise architect; and Maureen Kimball, senior vice president senior wealth man- ager at Bar Harbor Wealth Management, were "Chairman's Award" winners while "Emerging Leader Awards" went to Olivia Erickson, vice president SEC man- ager; Kevin Gendreau, vice president direc- tor of real estate management; Jessica Hooper, vice president human resources business partner; Nikos Kalampalikis, assistant vice president branch relation- ship manager in Manchester, N.H.; Lauren Mersereau, vice president senior wealth manager at Bar Harbor Wealth Management; and Andrew Switzer, vice president credit administration officer. The University of Maine at Augusta recog- nized Justin Chenette, a public servant and communications professional, and Mary Gibson, an archivist and advocate for Indigenous cultural preservation, with "Distinguished Alumni Awards" during its 2025 Commencement Ceremony. e National Council on Aging named the Maine Council on Aging in Brunswick its "2025 Innovator Award" winner. The American Institute of Architects Maine Chapter announced its "2025 Design Award Winners." Schupf Art Center; and BRIBURN, Sweetwater Residence, were "Merit Award: Built" recipients; Winkelman Architecture, Fern House; Paul Designs Project, Notch House; OPAL, e Smith Center for Education and Research; Kaplan Thompson Architects, Squid Cove; Whitten Architects, Tidehead Woods House; BRIBURN, West End Garden House; and Wood- hull, Woodhull Headquarters, cap- tured "Citation Award: Built" awards; Whitten Architects, Falls Pasture won the "Architrave Award;" Juniper Design + Build, East View, and Elliott Archi- tects, Subterranean Car Barn, won the "Honor Award: Unbuilt;" and Andrew Clark, Syracuse University, Computa- tional Craftsmanship, was the winner for "Merit Award: Unbuilt Student." Horch Roofing in Warren said that Stacey Lytton, COO, became the first person in New England to be named a "Top 5" finalists for a "QXO National Woman in Roofing Award."
