Greenmont Healthcare Products is the patent holder and distributor of Greenmont's EasyPushbar, an ergonomic handlebar for manual wheelchairs. Allowing the caregiver to stand straighter and maneuvering the patient like a supermarket shopping cart, the EasyPushbar reduces the stress and strain on the hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, neck and back. The EasyPushbar has three different models and is assisting caregivers in all 50 states, all Canadian provinces and 30 other countries around the world. All types of medical facilities, airports, casinos, amusement parks Category Winner MICROENTERPRISE BUSINESS OF THE YEAR and individuals are the target markets. How did you get into this business? What motivated you? I have been associated with wheelchair pushbars for about 40 years, beginning with my years of owning a retail pharmacy. The original model by another inventor had numerous deficiencies, which he did not want to correct. After his death and patent expiration, I set out to improve upon that original product. Numerous changes later, we have the current models. How has your business grown in the past year? What have been your company's biggest accomplishments? Greenmont has continued to grow each year since we sold our first EasyPushbar in 2017. Amazon, Amazon Business, Walmart Marketplace, as well as online and retail pharmacies and home-care medical products outlets throughout the country have provided us with a good mix of outlets to reach our customers. We have recently been approved to work with government agencies, both federal and state. What's a major challenge your business has overcome in the past year? A major challenge we overcame was a huge breakage problem to the crossbar, due to a change in the manufacturing process. We were able to remove the plastic piece that was the problem and replace it with a stronger nylon piece, solving the issue. What major strategic plans do you have in the next few years? We currently have three models that are sold in the U.S., Canada and 30 other countries around the world. We are contemplating a new model that would make Greenmont's EasyPushbar a much more flexible product, easier to use and greatly expand our market reach worldwide.
