The company is currently located in Bloomfield in a 12,000-square-foot headquarters. According to O,R&L Commercial, which brokered the sale, LiquidPiston will consolidate multiple facilities into the larger Suffield building. LiquidPiston maintains laboratory facilities for developing and testing engines and supporting components, and also has a machine shop with CNC machining and assembly capabilities. The new site, at 980 South St. in Suffield, has more than 9,000 square feet of office space and is set on more than 4 acres. PHOTO | COSTAR BERLIN A three-building office complex in Berlin has sold for $2.375 million, and the buyer may consider adding a multifamily building on excess land within the property, according to a broker familiar with the deal. The office complex at 1224 Mill St., which contains a combined 35,270 square feet of space, sold this month to Jacek Zbrzeski, owner of Plain- ville-based Cad Cam Machine Corp., according to Michael Guidicelli, of Regions Commercial Real Estate Advisors. Guidicelli represented the seller — Brooklyn, New York real estate investor Yisroel Rabinowitz — who purchased the property in 2014 for just over $3 million. The property was sold via auction on commer- cial real estate website Ten-X. Guidicelli said the buyer has purchased the property, which is 70% occupied and anchored by coworking company Regus, as an investment. The buyer — who secured a $903,000 mort- gage from Danbury-based Ives Bank to finance the purchase — plans to improve the common areas and continue to lease to office and medical tenants, while looking into the possibility of adding a multifamily residential building on the 6.65-acre property, Guidicelli said. MANCHESTER A New York-based outfit has acquired The Shoppes at Buckland Hills mall in Manchester, which has been shedding tenants and in foreclo- sure since 2021. Namdar Realty Group bought the sprawling 1.3-million-square-foot indoor shopping center for $25.8 million, according to land records. The sale includes about half of the 115 acres that comprise the Buckland Hills mall property. Separately owned outparcels include a hotel and several restaurants. Namdar owns four other malls in Connecticut: Meriden Mall, Enfield Square Mall, Crystal Mall in Waterford and Trumbull Mall. The Buckland Hills mall went into foreclosure on June 24, 2021, after its owners fell behind on payments to Wells Fargo Bank, the holder of its $130 million mortgage. In January, Namdar agreed to purchase the ailing mall for $25.8 million following an auction, according to federal court records. WATERBURY Online retail giant Amazon has purchased 157 acres from the city of Waterbury for $2.5 million, setting the stage for construction of a roughly 3.2 million-square-foot logistics center. Waterbury and Naugatuck officials confirmed the sale of the site – which stretches over the city's southern border into Naugatuck – to an Amazon-affiliated limited liability company. The sale marks a key milestone in a years-long effort to get the massive Amazon warehouse built. Pennsylvania-based Bluewater Property Group will be the developer of the large warehouse, which is expected to support more than 300 construction jobs and, once operational, could create up to 1,000 full-time equivalent jobs with benefits. "They want to start site work immediately," Waterbury Mayor Paul Pernerewski said of Blue- water Property Group.
