It is a productive partnership between two widely recognized and well-respected orga- nizations, each playing a pivotal role in the healthcare ecosystem. The support of Yale New Haven Health in collaborating with Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center strengthens the access to quality healthcare that every resident deserves. Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center's newly constructed Recovery & Wellness Center (RWC), adjacent to its South Central Reha- bilitation Center (SCRC) in New Haven, will soon begin accepting patients. Yale New Haven Health has generously supported the Recovery & Wellness Center. The RWC will provide stigma-free holistic care, offering a comprehensive array of services including partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient treatment, primary medical and dental care, and a short-term therapeutic living environ- ment for individuals battling substance use and co-occurring mental health issues. The RWC – SCRC continuum of care cam- pus will be one of the most comprehensive behavioral health and addiction services centers in South Central Connecticut. The RWC will house 52 therapeutic shelter beds for men and women, and support hundreds more on an outpatient basis, providing cru- cial access to care for patients in the region. Yale New Haven Health is committed to continuously improving the equity, quality and safety of patient care. By bringing health care into the communities where people live, the academic health system enhances access through programs and services designed to build stronger neighborhoods and health- ier communities. Initiatives include health screenings, support groups, health and well- ness offerings, financial grants and activities designed to advance careers in health care. As a public health advocate, Yale New Haven Health has earned national recognition for a social needs program that screens patients for non-medical issues that directly affect health such as food security, housing stability and access to transportation and utilities. Cornell Scott-Hill Health Center (CS-HHC), Connecticut's first community health center when it was established in 1968 and now among the nation's leaders, saw more than 60,000 patients last year – the largest num- ber in its 55+ year history - and more than 414,000 patient visits, reflecting the increas- ing need for integrated medical and behav- ioral health care in the region and state. CS-HHC's more than 750 staff provide med- ical, behavioral health, dental, pediatric, women's health and a range of additional specialty medical services throughout the Greater New Haven area and the Lower Naugatuck Valley, with expertise in 35 care locations that last year brought patients from 143 of Connecticut's 169 towns and cities. Yale New Haven Health (YNHHS), the largest and most comprehensive healthcare system in Connecticut, is recognized for advanced clinical care, quality, service, cost effective- ness and commitment to improving the health status of the communities it serves. YNHHS includes five hospitals, several special- ty networks and a non-profit medical founda- tion with several hundred community-based and hospital-employed physicians. YNHHS is affiliated with Yale University and Yale Medicine, the clinical practice of the Yale School of Medicine and the largest academ- ic multi-specialty practice in New England.
