Obedzinski, will retire at the end of the year. Obedzinski, who has worked in the nonprofit sector for 40 years, took the helm of the Community Foundation in August 2017. He is set to retire effective Dec. 31. During his time at the Community Foundation, he grew the organiza- tion's endowment from $45 million to more than $70 million. Also, Obedzinski is credited with starting new initiatives, including capaci- ty-building training for nonprofits, oppor- tunities for young professionals to learn about philanthropy, a disaster response fund and a degree-completion program at Central Connecticut State University. A search committee will begin the process to select a new president, the organization said. California-based solar developer buys 36-acre site in Marlborough A California-based solar development company that has been active in the Avelo launched flights on all three routes from Bradley in November, with each initially available only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. James Olson, a spokesperson for Avelo, said the routes "did not meet our expectations." He noted that Avelo will continue to offer nonstop service to all three destinations from Tweed-New Haven Airport. The Houston, Orlando/Lakeland and Charlotte/Concord routes were among seven launched by Avelo at Bradley in November. In all, Avelo operates 37 routes from Connecticut, including at Bradley and Tweed-New Haven. The Houston-based airline confirmed to Hartford Business Journal that it plans to suspend flights on its route to Charlotte/Concord, North Carolina, at the end of March. That would become the third recently added route to be suspended, following Avelo's decision in December to suspend flights to Houston and Orlando/Lakeland, Florida. The property, at 41-45 Hebron Road, sold in December to TA CT Holdings LLC. The limited liability company is controlled by California-based TRITEC Americas. In October, the CT Siting Council declined to approve a 0.999-mega- watt solar facility TRITEC proposed to build in Manchester. It's not clear what the company plans to do with the newly purchased Marlborough property, which has two buildings on-site, property records show. TRITEC did not respond to an email request for comment on the purchase. Yale New Haven Health to acquire CT ambulance service Yale New Haven Health (YNHHS) said it will acquire a North Haven- based ambulance service. The health system announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Nelson Ambulance Service and its affiliates, including Access Ambulance. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Approval by state regulators is required for the deal, which YNHHS said it expects to close in the first half of 2025.
