best known for hosting major cham-
pionships like the Ryder Cup in 1927,
the men's U.S. Open in 1925, and the
women's U.S. Open in 1960. Howev-

century, too, including the Massachu-
setts Amateur Championship in 2000
and 2006 and the New England PGA
Championship in 2009 and 2021.
