The British Broadcasting Corp. announced that U.S. Sen. Susan Collins was selected for its 12th annual "100 Women" list. In addition, Collins was recognized as a "Congressional Champion" at the 2024 U.S. Global Leadership Coalition Tribute Dinner. Thornton Academy in Saco was recognized as an "Apple Distinguished School" for inspiring, imagining and impacting teaching and learning through continu- ous innovation. e school has been honored every year since 2016. KidsPeace, a social services nonprofit, was named a "2024 Culture Innovator" by Kudos, an employee recognition software provider, as part of its Best Culture Awards. U.S. News & World Report designated Northern Light Mercy Hospital in Portland as a "high performing" hospital for maternity care on its Best Hospitals for Maternity Care list. Moose Landing Marina in Naples was named "Best Small Marina" by Marina Dock Age Magazine. Eastern Maine Development Corp. in Bangor named Commissioner Peter Baldacci as its "2024 Community Partner of the Year" for his decades of service and commitment to Penobscot County. e Leapfrog Group recognized MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland as a "Top Teaching Hospital" and MaineHealth Pen Bay Hospital as a "Top Rural Hospital" on its list of Top Hospitals for quality and safety in 2024. Rinck Advertising in Lewiston said it was honored with a "2024 Silver Davey Award" from the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts for its "Vape Free Maine: Don't Get Side Effected" campaign, developed in partnership with the Maine CDC. U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development named Kristina Cannon, president and CEO of Main Street Skowhegan, as a "Rural Innovator." Cannon was one of 14 honored at a spe- cial White House event.
