The city of Auburn announced that it signed a contract KRT Appraisal to provide services for a full city-wide re- valuation. The revaluation will include all residential, commercial and indus- trial improved and vacant parcels. As of the 2024 tax commitment, the city has 9,472 parcels. Thomas College in Waterville opened a new chemistry and biology lab and announced that it plans to expand its science programming in 2024. Dirigo Labs in Waterville announced the selection of its first incubator cohort including CHUH, Georgetown; VWrent, Waterville; Your Beauty, Portland; Creativity Co., South Portland; Trulehly Sweet (Backriver Blends), Topsham; dollhouse, Waterville; Kili Organics, Portland; Coelle Travel, Portland; ParaAI, Waterville; CUEE, Waterville; Ark Consulting, Waterville; Anavo Energy, Waterville; and Upliftcare USA, Bangor. The Maine Arts Commission in Augusta launched the Creative Communities Grant, designed to support arts and cultural projects that serve Maine's communities, opening Feb. 12, 2025. Eligible applicants include cultural organizations, schools, municipalities and tribal entities. Applicants may receive up to $7,000 in funding, with a 1-to-1 matching requirement. MaineGeneral Health in Augusta said its annual Day of Hope raised $205,000 to support the expansion of its cancer center. UScellular donated an additional 20 wire- less hotspots and two years of service to New Hope Midcoast in Rockland to support its After School Access Project. The donation is valued at $22,520. Acadia Fire FC in Ellsworth said it has surpassed the $20,0000 matching donation challenge received from the Lawrence Family Foundation which will allow the organization to replace the existing turf and provide turf throughout the Acadia Soccer Center.
