BIZ BRIEFS LAZ Parking to add EV chargers in 20 cities, including Hartford, over next five years Hartford-based LAZ Parking will be adding electric vehicle chargers at parking lots it owns across the country. LAZ announced it has inked an agreement with Bp pulse to collabo- rate in the development, deployment and operation of the charging stations. The hubs developed by Bp pulse are Level 3 ultra-fast chargers that can give electric vehicles a full charge in 30 to 45 minutes. The chargers will be installed in 20 cities, including Hartford, over the next five years. 3 partners split from NYC financial firm to launch North Haven wealth advisory practice Three partners at a New York City- based financial firm have left to start an independent advisory practice in North Haven. The trio recently launched Centel Wealth Advisory, which provides financial advice and planning to individuals and businesses. Centel is led by founders and managing partners Stephen Fordyce and Robert Bowman, along with Managing Director Sam DeGennaro. They previously worked at Snowden Lane Partners where they managed $2.2 billion in private and institutional assets, according to an announcement. Fordyce and Bowman are both certi- fied financial planners. DeGennaro has more than 30 years of experience. Their firm is located in a five-story office building at 127 Washington Ave., in North Haven. Financial services company debuts new CT headquarters Financial services company Numisma has opened its new Greenwich headquarters in a 64,635-square-foot office building at 1 Sound Shore Drive. Numisma is a global distributor of U.S. banknotes. It was chartered in Connecticut under the state's innova- tion banking charter, formerly known as the uninsured banking charter. This allows the bank to operate and be regulated, despite not being insured by the Federal Deposit Insur- ance Corp. The revival of the novel charter in Connecticut is aimed at attracting a cluster of fintech compa- nies to the state. Numisma has also achieved direct access to the Federal Reserve system, after it was awarded a master account earlier this year, the first bank in the nation regulated under a special purpose charter to do so. SS&C Technologies to acquire CT-based settlement claims processor Windsor-based SS&C Technologies, a publicly traded company that sells software to the financial services and healthcare industries, is expanding with the acquisition of a Stamford company that processes settlement claims in antitrust and securities litigation. SS&C has agreed to purchase Battea- Class Action Services LLC for about $670 million, the company announced. The sale is expected to close in 2024. Battea provides services to more than 900 banks, asset managers, hedge funds and proprietary trading firms. Battea has about 100 employees based in Stamford, San Francisco and Copenhagen, Denmark. It currently monitors 700 to 800 cases in litiga- tion and 340 settlements in payout. Women's Business Center debuts in downtown Hartford The Women's Business Develop- ment Council (WBDC) has launched its newest business center in Hartford. The center is located at 190 Trum- bull St., known as The Brownstone Building, in a 2,500-square-foot space that was recently renovated. The Hartford location is one of five Women's Business Centers under the umbrella of the WBDC. The others are in Stamford, New Haven, New London and Waterbury. Women's Business Centers offer one-on-one counseling, training, networking, workshops, technical assistance and mentoring to women entrepreneurs.
