The finances needed to hire and retain staff when considering the uncertainty and complexity of the youth served is challenging. � Expanding our school-based services so Day One can be an important component of integrated health care and behavioral health care services within school districts throughout southern and central Maine. � Renovation of staff offices in Windham, formerly used for foster care treatment before our 2020 merger with SMART Child & Family Services. � Offer industry competitive compen- sation, benefits and recognition to increase our already skilled and com- mitted staff and a focus on reflecting a broader diversity of thought and talent. � Increasing our visibility and fund- raising dollars. FUNDRAISING EVENTS/ OPPORTUNITIES We send annual appeal letters to direct supporters once a year and seek business support to offset the costs of fundraising events, including an upcoming benefit concert. Event sponsorship supports our mission, the people we serve and those involved in planning and executing the event. • Giving Tuesday campaign • Community Nights at local restaurants • Sponsorship(s) of an upcoming renaming event for our Windham girls' residential home • We utilize all aspects of social media to share our mission and seek support GIVING OPPORTUNITIES Financial support from our community is essential in closing funding gaps so we can reach and provide support and services to the growing number of our neighbors who need it. Individuals and businesses can support our clients by making one-time or monthly financial contributions through our website at day-one.org/donate/. Donors can also support our programs through grants, matching gifts, major gifts, and bequests and beneficiary designations. roughout the year we request in-kind donations for certain operational or capital expenses. We currently have a desperate need for a new generator at our girls' residential home in Windham and necessary signage at other locations. Better technology for staff is an ongoing topic and need. We would like to improve the efficiency of our operational and clinical staff who frequently travel to and from a variety of unique environments. Obtaining up to 10 touch screen laptops would better support Day One's efforts. The need for our multi-faceted and extensive services for individuals and families is large and growing.
