Prior to joining Day Pitney, Drais served as international tax director and tax counsel at Thomson Reuters. At Day Pitney, Drais will use her experience with cross-border and domestic federal income tax issues to support the firm's corpo- rate and private client practices in a wide range of complex tax matters for clients. Before Thomson Reuters, Drais was an attorney in the tax depart- ment at several Connecticut, Massa- chusetts and New York law firms. She received her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Avon advertising agency Mintz + Hoke said it has promoted Dennis Hurlburt from controller to chief financial officer. In his new role, Hurlburt, who has been with the firm for six years, will oversee the financial performance of the agency. A Berlin resident, he holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Nichols College. NBT Bank announced that Amanda Lidstone was recently promoted to BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) officer. In this role, Lidstone is responsible for NBT Bank's compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, anti-money laundering, USA PATRIOT Act and Office of Foreign Assets Control policies and procedures across its seven-state footprint. Lidstone joined NBT in August 2023 with the merger of Salisbury Bank and Trust Co. into NBT Bank. She has more than 15 years of expe- rience in compliance and BSA. She earned her bachelor's degree from Marist College in New York, and attended the CT School of Finance and Management. Rita Demo has been named vice president of community, crisis and prevention services for community health center Wheeler. Previously a senior director with oversight of outpatient, communi- ty-based and crisis programs, Demo assumed additional responsibility for prevention following the June 2024 retirement of Judith Stonger. In her new role, Demo will provide clinical and adminis- trative supervision for more than 25 programs. That includes oversight of an array of state- and federally supported prevention programs for individuals of all ages; the statewide Change the Script campaign; and oversight of Connecticut Clearinghouse, a state- wide library and resource center for information on substance use and mental health, wellness and more. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford has named Ron Hadorn to serve as the organization's interim CEO. Hadorn will lead the organization following the departure of former President and CEO Sam Gray Jr., who has been promoted to vice president for the Northeast Region for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. He left the organization after 23 years of service. Hadorn recently retired as vice president for the Northeast Region of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and previously served as executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester. A former state representative and Lamont administration official has taken a job with a Glastonbury lobbying firm. Graff Public Solutions announced that James Albis will join the firm as a partner in November. Albis will work with existing clients while seeking new business opportuni- ties in the energy, environment and cannabis sectors. Albis represented East Haven in the 99th House District from 2011 to 2019, and was co-chairman of the Environment Committee. In 2019, he resigned to join the administration of Gov.
