e Board of Directors then began a
lengthy process to find an executive direc-
tor. In the end, the efforts were well worth
the time. e board hired Dr. Jan Yost as
the founding president and CEO in July
1999. She served in that role for nearly 23
years until her retirement.
e original directors have been very
proud of e Health Foundation and what
it has accomplished. No one person want-
ed accolades. Rather, the physicians were
committed to leaving a legacy of improved
health in the region. n
