In 2021, the Board of CMIPA and its affiliated foundation, the CMIPA Founda- tion, elected to contribute the remaining CMIPA Foundation assets to e Health Foundation as both CMIPA and the CMI- PA Foundation were winding down. It was originally anticipated that the CMIPA Foundation's assets would be transferred to e Health Foundation Fund. In the end, following approval by the Attorney General's Office, the assets were trans - ferred directly to e Health Foundation. is generous gi of $500,996.71 was applied towards the 2022 Activation Fund grants, supporting a significant portion of that round of grants and helping the Foundation respond to pressing health issues in the region. Dr. Glazier remarked, "Given e Health Foundation's nationally recognized exper- tise in health funding, our decision to rely on its grantmaking processes to distribute the Central Massachusetts Independent Physicians Association's remaining assets was deemed to be the most efficient and effective course of action." e Health Foundation was humbled to have been chosen by the CMIPA Founda- tion as the steward of its remaining assets dedicated to improving health in Central Massachusetts. With the 2022 Activation Fund grants, e Health Foundation was able to honor the work and legacy of the physicians of CMHC and CMIPA. n
