When The Health Foundation of Central Massachusetts was launched, its service area was
defined as Central Massachusetts Health Care's former service area, where most of the patients
served by the HMO resided. This service area is comprised of the 60 cities and towns that make
up Worcester County and 21 contiguous communities, for a total of 81 communities.
