HQ-branded coworking spaces are meant for "cost-conscious clients, whether they are a major corpora- tion or a freelancer," according to IWG's website. The Stamford location will be at 20 Summer St., and open under the HQ brand in the first quarter of 2025. In Bloomfield, IWG will open another HQ coworking space at 204 West Newberry Road in the second quarter of 2025. IWG's Shelton location will open at 1 Waterview Drive, under the Regus brand, in the fourth quarter of 2024. In Old Saybrook, a Regus location will open at 123 Elm St. State launches new marketing campaign to find young manufacturers The state is launching a new marketing campaign that aims to bring more young people into the manufacturing sector. Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz and the state's Chief Manufacturing Officer Paul Lavoie unveiled the "I Got It Made" campaign to showcase the different types of jobs available in Connecticut's manufacturing industry, which currently has about 10,000 open positions. The new marketing campaign was developed based on research that shows young people and their parents in Connecticut are largely unaware of industrial opportunities in the state. In particular, research shows non college-bound high schoolers have uncertainty about their futures, so the manufacturing sector could be a good option. The marketing campaign will include a mix of traditional and digital media advertising, streaming content and a dedicated website landing page, among other things. Cannabis micro-cultivation facility launches in New Britain Connecticut adult-use cannabis dispensaries looking for different products have a new option in the market. Brix Cannabis announced it has launched a micro-cultivation facility in New Britain. Brix, which lists its business address at One Hartford Square in New Britain, operates out of a 10,000-square-foot grow space, but has plans to add 5,000 square feet of space annually for the next few years, the company said. It will ultimately operate a 25,000-square-foot cultivation area, Brix said, with plans to initially focus on producing flower products, which are the most popular type of cannabis product in the state. Brix, which has 10 employees, said it will eventually produce vapes as well. The company stems from an equity joint venture with multistate cannabis operator Curaleaf, which recently moved its headquarters to Connecticut. New Britain native Judy Prisco is the social equity owner with a 50% stake in the company. Former Curaleaf executive Patrik Jonsson, who now leads cannabis brand The Collective, and Connecticut native Gary Fett are also partners in the business. CT bank granted approval to change name The Savings Bank of Danbury is a step closer to a major rebranding effort. The state Department of Banking has approved the bank's plan to change its name to Ives Bank, in honor of the family that originally hosted it in their home. The change is expected to occur later this year, but the bank will remain under the same ownership structure. Its head- quarters will also remain in Danbury. Savings Bank of Danbury has 16 branch offices in Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Norwalk, Southbury, Stam- ford and Waterbury. Its assets total more than $1.6 billion. The Ives family is well-known in the region. When the bank was founded in June 1849, it operated from the home of Charles Ives, with George W. Ives serving as the bank's secretary-treasurer. Generations of Ives family members have lived in the Ives home, which is now owned by the Danbury Museum and Historical Society.
